Steps to Obtain a

New Water Service

  1. Come in to the office to fill out a Pre-Site Application and pay a non-refundable Pre-Site Inspection Fee which is currently $45.00. We will then set up a day and time to meet you on-site to discuss the proposed service.
  2. Once the Pre-Site has been approved, you will need to come back into the office to complete a New Customer Information Packet and sign an Easement giving us permission to extend our water service to your property. We will also collect the balance of the Tap-On Fee ($1350.00) and a minimum Deposit ($63.00) at this time.
  3. Before we can install your new water service, you will need to submit Plumbing & Sewage Permits from the Health Department and a 911 Address Verification from the Trimble County Judge's Office.
  4. Once the above steps have been completed, we will issue a Work Order for the installation of the new service and call in the necessary line locates.
  5. You will be notified when the service has been installed so that you can contact your plumber to connect your service line to the meter. Please note: When the district has completed the installation, you will be put on billing; even if you haven't connected to the meter yet. A minimum bill is currently $17.50 (plus school tax) for 1,000 gallons.
  6. Once your plumber has connected your service line to the meter, you will need to notify the District that you are ready for the service to be turned on.
  7. Within 24 hours of your request, the District will come out to turn the service on and inspect for possible leaks. You, or a responsible adult, will need to be present.
  8. If you have any questions about this procedure, please don't hesitate to call the District at (502) 255-7554.
